Major Finding: Although 30-day mortality was equivalent, a significantly lower percentage of the metabolic syndrome group, 67% vs. 73%, experienced freedom from recurrent symptoms over 5 years, and they also showed a significantly lower patency.
Data Source: Retrospective database study of 870 patients who underwent endovascular treatment for symptomatic superficial femoral artery disease.
