Mothers using the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children program receive only $10 per month for fresh fruits and vegetables, while their children receive an additional $6 monthly, "so that money must be spent wisely to maximize spending capacity for healthy foods," the report’s authors caution.
