MST is defined by federal law as sexual assault or sexual harassment that occurs during military service. Overall estimates of MST incidence are significant, with sexual and gender minorities experiencing MST at disproportionate rates compared to their cisgender and heterosexual counterparts. While some efforts have been made to improve prevention and response over the last decade, reports of MST continue to rise.1
