And so it is that as I am only 1 month away from starting my new career as an academic hospitalist, my excitement is met with a healthy dose of trepidation and fear; for with my new role as a leader and attending physician in charge of a team of residents, medical students, and fascinating clinical cases, comes the inevitable collection of ghosts.

Dr. Horton will be completing his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Utah and Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City in July. He will then join the faculty there as a clinical instructor and academic hospitalist.
