Can Switching Anticoagulants Influence Bleeding Risk in Veterans?
Author and Disclosure Information
Because some bleeding events may not appear in VA data if they are only treated in the private sector, Dr. Sarrazin and colleagues conducted additional analysis in which they stratified patients by distance to the nearest VA medical center as a proxy for the likelihood that they would visit a VA facility. The results were similar, regardless of patients’ distance from a VA medical facility.
