How big a role should JNC 7 play in the care of hypertensive patients?

Considering the continued poor control of hypertension in the US, we believe that focusing on blood pressure goals will provide the greatest impact on morbidity and mortality in the near term. In the long term, we concur with Dr Weir that individualization of therapy is the ultimate goal.
