Treatment of MRSA Infections

Author and Disclosure Information

Patients with persistent MRSA bacteremia or vancomycin treatment failure should be evaluated carefully for undetected foci of infection that should then be drained. Patients with susceptible isolates can be treated with high-dose daptomycin in combination with rifampin, linezolid, trimethoprim/sulfa or an anti-staphylococcal beta-lactam.

The full text guideline contains additional important detail regarding MRSA infection in adults and children.
