Recognizing and Managing Iron Toxicity

Since urgent care physicians will encounter patients suffering from excess iron intake only occassionally, iron toxicity can be challenging when it does present. The authors review the basic science and the signs, symptoms and course of illness and provide an update on the clinical management of these patients.
