Author and Disclosure Information
Each year, an estimated 150,000 children in the United States have a first-time seizure. Most patients presenting to the ED with seizures need only a focused workup, and many will not have a recurrence. The authors review manifestations, prognosis, and complications associated with the various types of pediatric seizures. In addition, the most effective therapies for seizure termination are discussed.
