Author and Disclosure Information
Brought to you by the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons. Suture injuries to the bladder can occur from inadvertent suture placement during surgery or postoperative erosion or migration of a suture into the bladder. This can lead to a chronic inflammatory reaction of the bladder wall and stone formation. The authors illustrate cystoscopic excision of an intravesical suture encrusted with bladder stone using a minimally invasive technique with a Carter-Thomason needle.
