Guidelines Help Hospitalists Manage Acute Coronary Syndrome Patients

At discharge, patients should be given:

  • Aspirin;
  • Beta-blockers (Joint Commission-required; voluntary according to CMS);
  • ACE/ARB for systolic heart failure (Joint Commission-required;
  • voluntary according to CMS); and
  • Statins.
