ABSTRACTMany patients with chronic heart failure also have anemia, an association that has been increasingly recognized in recent years. Whether treating anemia will improve outcomes in patients with heart failure has yet to be determined, however. The decision to use an agent to treat anemia in heart failure should be made on a case-by-case basis.
