ABSTRACTDiabetic autonomic neuropathy can cause heart disease, gastrointestinal symptoms, genitourinary disorders, and metabolic disease. Strict glycemic control can slow the onset of diabetic autonomic neuropathy and sometimes reverse it. Pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic therapies are available to treat symptoms.
