The Impact of HCC on Veterans and the VA Healthcare System

Dr Cynthia Moylan is joined by Dr James Ronald, Dr George Ioannou, and Dr Kelsey Sheehan for a virtual roundtable discussion about the burden of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) on veterans in the Veterans Affairs healthcare system. The physicians discuss the increasing rate of HCC among veterans as well as current treatment strategies and emerging therapeutic options that could improve outcomes for these patients. The discussion includes a review of first-line therapies, including the recently approved combination of atezolizumab and bevacizumab, as well as the use of radioembolization, which has proved to be an effective treatment option for many patients with HCC.
