Umbilical cord milking tied to severe IVH in very premature neonates

Key clinical point: Umbilical cord milking was associated with severe intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) in very premature newborns.

Major finding: IVH or death occurred in 12% of neonates randomized to milking and 8% randomized to delayed cutting.
