Oculostenotic reflex still holds sway, survey shows

Key clinical point: Visual appearance of the angiogram dominates contemporary treatment decision-making about intermediate stenoses, despite guideline recommendations to the contrary.

Major finding: About 59%of decisions about the significance of intermediate stenoses were made solely on the basis of angiographic appearance, with no input sought regarding functional assessment.

Study details: This was an international web-based survey completed by 334 interventional cardiologists during the second half of 2019.
