One HCV Infection Leads to Another in HIV+ MSM

Key clinical point: HCV prevention among HIV-positive men who have sex with men needs to focus especially on men who’ve have already cleared their first infection.

Major finding: Overall, 38 men (12%) picked up another HCV infection a median of 1.9 years after clearance of their first, yielding a reinfection rate of 4.4/100 person-years.
