Reduced SCC Risk With Higher Dietary Vitamin A Intake

Key clinical point: Higher intake of dietary vitamin A may reduce the risk of incident squamous cell carcinoma (SCC).

Major finding: Increased total vitamin A level was associated with a lower SCC risk (quintile 5 HR, 0.83; P less than .001 for trend).

Study details: A prospective cohort study of 3,978 SCC cases in 48,400 men and 75,170 women.
