New Practice Guideline: CRC Screening Isn’t Necessary for Low-Risk Patients Aged 50-75 Years

Key clinical point: CRC screening by any of the four common methodologies only slightly reduced the incidence of CRC for patients with normal risk.

Major finding: For individuals aged 50-79 with no symptoms and an estimated 15-year CRC risk below 3%, no screening is recommended.

Study details: The MAGIC group in collaboration with BMJ did a systematic review of CRC screening trials that involved almost 1.4 million patients.

Disclosures: The authors had no financial conflicts of interest.
