Abnormal MYC Status, p53 Expression Predict Survival in DLBCL

Key clinical point: The relationship between MYC protein overexpression (MYC extra copies) and p53 expression may help predict survival in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).

Major finding: p53 expression significantly correlated with aberrant MYC status, but adverse prognosis attributable to the effects of p53 was only observed with MYC rearrangement status.

Study details: A retrospective case series of 122 patients with DLBCL.

Disclosures: The study was funded by the University of Kansas Medical Center. The authors reported having no conflicts of interest.
