Five prognostic indexes come up short for planning early CLL treatment

Key clinical point: None of the indexes was able to predict with total precision the clinical evolution of chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Major finding: The most accurate score in predicting time to first therapy was IPS-A, followed by CLL-01, and CLL-IPI.

Study details: Five prognostic indexes were applied to 428 early-stage chronic lymphocytic leukemia patients from a multicenter Spanish database with clinical and biological information.
