Accelerated fetal growth in boys associated with development of AML

Key clinical point: Accelerated fetal growth was associated with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), in infant boys and those with minimally differentiated leukemia.

Major finding: There was a nearly 50% increased risk of AML among large-for-gestational-age infant boys.

Study details: Data from 22 studies involving a total of 3,564 AML cases were assessed.
