MRD status at transplant predicts outcomes in ALL patients

Key clinical point: Being measurable residual disease negative predicted better survival outcomes after transplant in patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, especially then they received total irradiation-based conditioning.

Major finding: MRD positivity was associated with lower overall survival and leukemia-free survival (hazard ratios, 1.26 and 1.3, respectively).

Study details: A retrospective study of 2,780 patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia who were undergoing hematopoietic cell transplantation.

Disclosures: Dr. Nagler reported having no relevant financial disclosures.
