Responders to r-TMS May Engage in More Physical Activity After Treatment

Key clinical point: "Patients moved more after repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation (r-TMS) treatment, and this may reinforce the treatment effect,” wrote Matthew James Fagan and colleagues.

Major finding: A significant treatment effect was found among responders who increased light physical activity by 55 min/day, compared with nonresponders (P = .009).

Study details: A secondary analysis of the physical activity levels of 30 participants who underwent r-TMS for treatment of depression.
