Major finding: A home blood pressure telemonitoring program with pharmacist case management of patients with uncontrolled hypertension reduced major cardiovascular events by half while providing a 126% return on investment.

Study details: This cluster randomized, controlled trial involved 16 primary care clinics and 450 adults with uncontrolled hypertension prospectively followed for an additional 4 years after a year-long intervention.
