Intensive BP Lowering May Not Reduce Risk of Recurrent Stroke
Key clinical point: Compared with standard treatment, intensive blood pressure reduction provides a nonsignificant reduction of recurrent stroke risk.
Major finding: The rate of recurrent stroke was 1.65% in the intensive treatment group and 2.26% in the standard treatment group.
