Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index predicts long-term outcomes in PAD

Key clinical point: The Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index score is an independent predictor of long-term overall survival and the composite of major adverse cardiovascular and limb events in patients with PAD.

Major finding: Five-year overall survival was 80% in PAD patients with an optimal Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index score, but it dropped off stepwise in patients with scores indicative of mild, moderate, and severe nutritional risk.

Study details: This prospective cohort study included 1,219 patients with PAD who were followed for 5 years.

Disclosures: The presenter reported having no financial conflicts.
