Peels plus minocycline promote improvement in rosacea

Key clinical point: All 19 patients achieved at least a “moderate response” after 12 weeks, and 17 (89%) achieved “excellent improvement” based on the Investigator Global Assessment of efficacy.

Major finding: Rosacea severity, defined by average scores on the Investigator Severity Assessment, decreased significantly from 3.32 at baseline to 0.89 at 12 weeks after treatment.

Study details: The data come from a retrospective study of 19 adults with papulopustular rosacea who were treated with 50 mg minocycline twice a day and supramolecular salicylic acid peels 30% twice a month.
