A 35-year-old woman presents to her primary care physician and describes experiencing fatigue, headaches, frequent stomach aches, and a 10-lb weight gain in the past 3 months. She also reports increasing irritability, loss of energy and motivation, difficulty sleeping, worsened concentration at work, and frequent mood swings. She shows a continual focus on negativity when describing her symptoms and her current situation. She appears slightly disheveled but is not unclean. She does not report self-harm or substance misuse of any kind. Her medical history is unremarkable.
