Transient Opioid Use Linked to COPD Exacerbation

Key clinical point: Short-term opioid use is associated with acute respiratory exacerbation in adults with COPD.

Major finding: Opioid exposure in the prior 7 days was associated with an 80.8% increase in the odds of exacerbation (odds ratio, 1.81; 95% confidence interval, 1.60-2.05).
