Valvular AFib heightens risk in TAVR

Key clinical point: Valvular atrial fibrillation raises risk of poor outcomes in transcatheter aortic valve replacement.

Major finding: 24.2% of valvular AFib patients had poor outcomes vs. 14.5% of nonvalvular AFib patients.

Study details: Retrospective analysis of 1,472 patients at the Bern University Hospital who had TAVR for aortic stenosis between August 2007 and June 2018.
